Two Drones Film One Building From the Air and Through All Three Floors
Evri Group needed a polished marketing video for East Edge 2 - a premium commercial precinct in Canberra. We filmed the outside from the air with CASA approval. An FPV drone then flew through the foyer and all three floors in one continuous shot.

A premium building deserves premium content to match
East Edge 2 is a modern commercial precinct in Canberra’s inner south. It has three floors of premium office space. Features include double-glazed windows, architectural bathrooms, EV charging in the forecourt and bicycle parking. The Red Baron café is on the ground floor, with direct access. Evri Group needed a marketing video that showed the space well and supported their leasing and website campaigns.
The brief was clear: capture exterior, interior, and lifestyle footage that showcases the building's character and the community feel of the precinct. The final video needed to work on the web, on LinkedIn, and in leasing presentations - polished enough to stand on its own.
What made this job technically demanding was the location. East Edge 2 sits within 5.5km of Canberra Airport, which means all exterior drone operations require CASA airspace authorisation. And to capture the interior across three floors and a foyer in a single, seamless sequence - we needed something a standard camera crew simply can't do.
The Challenges
- The site is within 5.5km of Canberra Airport, requiring CASA approval before a single exterior drone frame could be captured.
- We had to film the foyer and three floors in a way that showed the building’s size and layout. Photos alone couldn’t do that.
- The Red Baron café and precinct amenities needed to feel like a natural part of the building's story, not a separate shoot.
- One shoot had to produce content suited to web, LinkedIn, and in-person leasing presentations - all from the same day.
Approved to fly drones near Canberra Airport, where most agencies don’t
Operating a drone within 5.5km of Canberra Airport isn't something you improvise. You need formal CASA airspace approval and a current ReOC (Remote Operator Certificate). You also need written approval from the property owner. All of this must be in place, in writing, before the day of the flight.
Studio Who holds all required certifications and manages the full authorisation process in-house. For East Edge 2, we got CASA approval (AU-OKF-RT1PGN570) to fly manually up to 16m. We set up safety on the ground and flew within the approved time with no problems.
This isn't a nice-to-have. It's the difference between aerial footage that's legal, safe, and covered by insurance - and footage that isn't.
Three floors. One continuous shot. No cuts.
To show the size and layout of East Edge 2’s interior, we used an FPV (First Person View) drone. The pilot wears goggles that show a live view from the drone. This lets them fly accurately indoors, which a standard drone can’t do.
The result is one unbroken flight through the building. It starts in the double-height foyer, past the large Indigenous artwork at the entrance and the curved blush seating below. It then rises through all three levels. It shows ceiling heights, floor layouts and the feel of the building in a way photos and standard video can’t. It’s the kind of shot that makes someone looking for office space stop and watch.
Two specialist rigs. One coordinated shoot. Everything in a single day.
We used two drones. A CASA-certified drone filmed the outside from the air. It covered the rooftop, the car park and how the building sits in the wider precinct. An FPV drone flew inside, through the foyer and all three floors in one continuous shot.
On the ground, our camera operator filmed the details drones can’t get. That included close-ups of the amenities and the Red Baron café’s covered pergola terrace, with its festoon lights and lawn views. We also filmed people using the space and the building features Evri Group most wanted to show. We planned every shot against the brief before the shoot day.

Fully authorised exterior drone footage capturing the building, car park, and surrounding precinct from up to 16m altitude - legally flown within Canberra Airport's controlled airspace.
FPV Interior Fly-Through
A continuous flight through the foyer and all three floors, filmed with a specialist FPV drone. It gives a view no standard camera can get.
Architectural & Lifestyle Footage
Ground-level camera work covering amenity details, the Red Baron café interiors, building features, and lifestyle sequences - edited to work alongside the drone footage.

Evri Group now has a finished marketing video they can use straight away, online and in leasing campaigns. The aerial and FPV footage is hard for others to copy. Most agencies in Canberra aren’t CASA-approved to fly in controlled airspace. Few can fly an FPV drone through a building this size.
For Evri Group, that means their building looks exactly as premium as it actually is.
