Drive the Future - A Cinematic Launch Film for CUPRA Garage Canberra
Working with Ignite Group, Studio Who made a cinematic lifestyle film to launch the CUPRA Tavascan VZ in Canberra. The film shows the car as part of a modern way of life.
More fashion film than car ad - telling a story without saying a word
In collaboration with Ignite Group, Studio Who was engaged to support the launch of the CUPRA Tavascan VZ - the brand's all-electric, design-led performance SUV - for CUPRA Garage Canberra. The brief was a cinematic lifestyle film that showed the Tavascan as part of a modern way of life. The film brings together the car’s technology, performance and European styling for a new generation of Canberra drivers.
The Challenge
- The vision was to tell a story entirely through visual cues, composition, and movement - without dialogue or narration.
- The film had to make the car look desirable and as polished as an international ad, while shot in Canberra.
- The film had to work as an Instagram Reel, as a YouTube ad and on showroom screens.

Shot on location across Canberra in a single day
With one vehicle, two locations, and a tight production window, the shoot was engineered for efficiency without compromising on quality. Every frame was planned to capture the Tavascan VZ in environments that matched the character of the car - urban, dynamic, and unapologetically confident.
A young professional behind the wheel, navigating the city
We filmed in Woden’s modern business district. The film follows a young professional through their workday, among the city’s buildings. The Tavascan fits naturally into their life. Shots of the car on the move, views from the driver’s seat and smooth day-to-night changes keep the film moving. There’s no voiceover and no sales pitch, only the car and the city.
